1. Purpose of This Service
Troy Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public record indexes, resident rolls, and directory collections connected with Troy, Oakland County, and Michigan. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a city office, county department, court, library, or other custodian.
2. Allowed Use
Use the service and anything found through it only for lawful purposes. You may not use it to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions involving credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance
- Scrape, copy, or republish the service’s content at scale
- Interfere with the service’s operation or security
3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
Troy Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing on the service, nor anything returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
4. Outside Services
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search providers, operate under their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their content, uptime, charges, results, or information practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is offered as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that its information is complete, accurate, or current, or that a linked Troy, Oakland County, or Michigan portal will function or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of the service or a linked resource, including decisions based on a record located through one.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the service operators from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, resulting from misuse of the service or a breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted. Republishing complete pages or systematically copying the content is not.
9. Term Updates
We may change these terms by posting a revised version here. Use of the service after that posting means acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Restricted Access
We may block or limit access, without notice, when a user violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Michigan Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Questions about access to existing public records should be directed to the record custodian under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231–15.246. That act does not require a custodian to release material another statute closes.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
