Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that produces the results. Our own servers do not retain a copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted pages, the service may receive ordinary server-log information, including an IP address, browser type, time of visit, and pages requested. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which Troy records pages are being used. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where used.
How We Use Information
The limited data supports site operation, error fixes, traffic measurement, and improvements to the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create profiles of individual readers.
Links and Search Providers
Troy Residents Directory links to county and state portals, libraries, archives, and other outside services. Their own terms and privacy practices govern information entered on those destinations. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Service Providers
Hosting and support providers may process the technical logs needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed only when valid legal process requires it or as otherwise permitted by law.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no accounts, the service does not hold a visitor password or member profile.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Requests
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because the service holds very little, we normally check the contact mailbox and applicable server logs, then remove what is found. The research used for Troy identifies Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231–15.246, but it does not identify a Michigan consumer-privacy statute for this policy. Public records kept by the City of Troy, Oakland County, or Michigan are outside our control and must be addressed with the custodian.
